I try to tell myself that everyone I see...everyone!..from the guy who is taking my order at Taco Bell...to the guy who is standing in line in back of me at the "check out" counter, down to my very own children...they are all sitting in their own wagons on the side of a hill..some are far up the hill and others are closer to the bottom......when I encounter these people, anyone...I am confronted with (3) options...one is to leave the wagon right where it is, another is to push the wagon down the hill...and the final option is to push the wagon up the hill.....the choice is ours. Pick whichever metaphor resonates best with you. even if I am only going to interface with a person for a few moments...let them be moments where I pushed their wagon up the hill...even if it is just an inch...even when I choose not to interact with someone that is an opportunity lost.... they are all opportunities...wouldn't it be great to live in a world where we were all pushing each other's wagons up the hill.
