'Just Go With It' on Valentine's Day Eve

This weekend, many will be celebrating Valentine’s Day. Let chocolates, cards and flowers flow!

There are a few legends about how this holiday of hearts started; one in particular, according to the History Channel, attributes it to a priest in third-century Rome who was imprisoned and wrote his sweetheart a letter signed “from your Valentine.”

Regardless of how it started, it is alive and well today. And for those looking for just a quiet getaway for a few hours, perhaps on Sunday afternoon, away from the children and for just the two of you, Malibu Cinemas will be showing the new Adam Sandler/Jennifer Aniston love flick “Just Go With It.”

Filmed in Hawaii, this light-hearted movie follows the character played by Sandler who makes up a wife (Aniston) to his new girlfriend (Brooklyn Decker) after she finds a wedding ring in his pocket that he uses to pick up women who think he is married, but heartbroken. Rumor has it there are some funny cameos by Nicole Kidman and Dave Matthews too. My guess is hilarity ensues and there are tender moments—perfect for a couple’s afternoon.

So, drop the kids off at with a built-in babysitter by 3:30pm, and catch the 4 p.m. show. Youth group members (with adult supervision) will be babysitting for $10 an hour for the first child and $5 an hour for each additional one (proceeds benefit retreats and community service trips) in the Mayhugh building from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be pizza, drinks, movies, games and crafts for the kiddos. They ask for parents to bring a dish to contribute to the party atmosphere.

Go ahead, take a break from the kids, relax for a few hours with your honey, laugh a little and celebrate Valentine’s Day with a getaway afternoon—have fun and just go with it!
