LETTER: Thank You From American Tortoise Rescue
American Tortoise Rescue thanks the Malibu community for helping raise $4,000 for a sustainable garden for tortoise food.
A very big and heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who loves turtles and tortoises and who made this extra special.
We did incredibly well on Groupon raising more than $4,000 (the highest percentage of donors came from the 90265 zip code!) and had matching funds of $2,000 from .
The Shack event raised another $1,000 and then some checks came in separately. It was a major help to us because just one exotic vet visit can cost more than $500. Worms for the box turtles come in at about $80 a month and food every day is so costly.
