LIES AND VIDEOTAPE....

This isn‘t an assault against any political party....it is an assault on all of us....an assault on ethics, Truth, and the American People...it should bother all of us.

Good people can disagree on when life starts…I accept that and I have no argument with those who sincerely believe that abortion is the taking of a “life”, the law of the land notwithstanding….

But, the incredibly egregious assault on Planned Parenthood is reprehensible.

The famous tape that reportedly depicts Planned Parenthood arguing about salvaging the body parts of an aborted fetus is clearly a hoax…a plant…a video that was edited that actually shows a stillborn birth of a 19 week old boy who died two years ago. The video was used without the permission of the mother by an anti abortion group in order to falsely discredit Planned Parenthood.

The mother of the boy, Lexi Oliver Fretz, had this to say yesterday: “Yes, the photo at the end of the newest video about Planned Parenthood is Walter. No, they did not ask permission to use the video and Yes that is illegal.” The irony is that Mrs. Fretz is, herself, anti abortion.

“This fraudulent smear campaign is falling apart on closer inspection,” said PP spokesman Alex Ferrero said. “These anti-abortion extremists violated multiple laws to perpetrate this fraud. They weren’t documenting wrongdoing – they set out to create wrongdoing and catch it on tape, and when they couldn’t even do that, they edited videos to try to mislead and deceive the public.”

Planned Parenthood is, by any measure, a very positive organization which has greater favorability ratings than every single Presidential candidate from both parties including the President. Planned Parenthood provides women’s health services to 2.7 million men and women in this country.

Frivolous Investigations were brought against Planned Parenthood in (7) states as a direct result of these deceptive videos:

Indiana
Missouri
South Dakota
Massachusetts
Georgia
Pennsylvania
Florida

In EVERY case Planned Parenthood was found to have acted totally within the law. There is NO evidence that fetal tissue has been sold by Planned Parenthood and every one of these states has explicitly declared as such…

This is a “Salem witch hunt” and there is plenty of blame to go around…namely, most of the Republican Caucus and especially Presidential candidate, Carly Fiorina, who went on national television in front of 24 million during the debates to spread blatant lies and fabrications about Planned Parenthood that were clearly designed to boost her popularity among the Republican base….Fiorina’s finger pointing and wagging was text book slander and, in spite of direct evidence that contradicts her claim…Fiorina is holding onto the lies….the Truth is just a mosquito to be swatted.

Another shameful performance was by that of Republican Debate Moderator Jake Tapper…CNN’s Tapper failed to challenge unsubstantiated accusations, especially ones as hostile and inflammatory and damaging and FALSE as those levied by Fiorina on Planned Parenthood. In my opinion, Tapper did a great disservice to Planned Parenthood and to the American Public by allowing such an unsubstantiated lie to reach 24 million people without a challenge. The same can be said of Fox News Moderators Megyn Kelly, Brett Baier and Chris Wallace when they allowed Fiorina to call Hillary Clinton a liar during the first debate….slanderous accusations of this nature need clear substantiation or else they need to be classified as opinions, not as fact or innuendo…say what you want if you preface it with “my opinion”.

Shame on CNN and Fox News for allowing lies to be fertilized across the nation and among the electorate while they sat on their hands.
