Luxury Home Furnishings and Decor Store Opens at Trancas Country Market

Making its debut at Trancas Country Market, luxury home furnishings and décor store, Malibu Beach House, is a new retail venture by lifelong friends Lisa Houge and Laura Burdge.

Known for their Malibu-based interior design firm, Quintessential Designs, as well as their ever-popular bloody mary mix, Malibu Mary, the creative pair has set their sights on sharing their love of “home” through entertaining and design, by launching Malibu Beach House.

Drawing inspiration from California’s coastal beauty, Malibu Beach House features high-end furnishings and décor, exquisite tabletop, luxurious bedding & bath, one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, and spectacular lighting. In addition, Malibu Beach House represents exclusive fabric collections by prestigious California designers Barclay Butera and Peggy Platner, and will also showcase renowned lines by Kathryn Ireland and Ralph Lauren.

Laura’s husband and Malibu’s signature architect, Doug Burdge, gave Trancas Country Market its rustic living-inspired remodel. Being well versed in designing rustic yet modern homes among a variety of other styles, Doug has developed a line of Rustern” furniture, which will soon be offered at Malibu Beach House. From dining tables to outdoor pieces, the line will feature the highly coveted raw vintage timber, which works so well in coastal environments.

Malibu Beach House is Trancas Country Market’s newest offering, among other notable tenants including Vintage Grocers, Italian Restaurant Mangia (from the owners of Tra di Noi), Drill Surf & Skate, floral designs by Sea Lily, Nati clothing boutique, and jeweler Irit Design. The development is Malibu’s newest “go-to” retail destination located just west of Zuma Beach.
