Malibu Canyon Road Reopens After Boulder Hits Car

There were no immediate reports that anyone was seriously injured.

MALIBU, CA – Malibu Canyon Road has reopened from the tunnel to Piuma Road after an unstable hillside let to a boulder hitting a car Monday afternoon, the City of Malibu said. There were no immediate reports that anyone was seriously injured.

The collision was reported about 1:30 p.m. near Piuma Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded, but no one was taken to a hospital, a dispatcher said.
