As part of the City of Malibu’s commitment to protecting the environment, the City offers regular collection events to help residents safely and properly dispose of household hazardous waste, electronic waste, and bulky items. This free service is provided by Waste Management for its customers. Schedule your pickup by 12:00 PM Friday, September 25 by calling 800-675-1171. Maximum of seven items accepted. Items accepted include household appliances, refrigerators, furniture, carpet, mattresses, electronics
The event is open to residents of Malibu and the surrounding area. As part of the event’s COVID-19 safety protocols, all attendees are asked to wear face coverings and remain in their vehicles with windows closed. Event staff will remove electronic waste from your vehicle’s trunk or pickup bed. Members of the public are asked to stay home if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, have been asked to quarantine, or have recently traveled internationally.

- Paint (water-based only)
- Used motor oil
- Anti-freeze
- Automotive and household batteries
- Compact fluorescent light bulbs (unbroken)
- Electronics
The City schedules its events on the 3rd Saturday in February, April, June, August, October, and December. Rain cancels event.
