Malibu Elementary School Gate Damaged By Car
The front gate of Malibu Elementary School has been rendered unusable by what the LASD suspects is a 'reckless' driver.

MALIBU, CA — A reckless driver crashed into the front gate of Malibu Elementary School and rendered it unusable, according to the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District.
According to a Monday news release, a custodian discovered the damaged gate on Monday morning, and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department determined that it was the result of a reckless car driving around the parking lot. The vandalism took place between 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.
“We are disappointed that someone chose to damage school property,” said SMMUSD Chief Operations Officer Carey Upton. “We have reported to law enforcement and we are investigating.”
