Malibu High Performs Well in League Cross-Country Race
The girls win and the boys place second in the first Frontier League race of the season.

The girls and boys cross-country runners negotiated through gravel, concrete, asphalt and even stairs on Tuesday at the Cate School in Carpinteria for a successful performance in the first Frontier League race of the season. The girls placed first and the boys finished second in a competition with more than 100 runners that featured host Bishop Diego, Santa Clara and Grace Brethren.
Malibu's Caroline Pietrzyk, a freshman, was the individual winner in the girls competition, completing the three-mile course in 22 minutes, 13.24 seconds. Also finishing in the top 5 for the Sharks were Nicole Parker (third) and Emma London (fifth). Kate Klevit and Alena Kaye also placed in the top 10.
The boys team had four runners in the top 10—Erik Rosenberg, Scott Wesson, Dyer Pettijohn and Harrison Barton. Aiden Pascucci and team captain James Gordon completed the team scoring with top 15 finishes.
