Malibu High Water Polo Defeats Villanova
The varsity and junior varsity teams continue to dominate.

The boys varsity water polo team continued its undefeated Tri-Valley League season with a 16-5 victory Friday at Villanova. The Sharks attack was lead with four goals apiece from Michael Mitze and Jordan Clarke, both playing from the set position in front of the goal. Drew Dvorsky, George Karaghossian, Emmet Pierson and Morgan Hathorn each had three steals on defense and Jens Cole had two assists. Goalie Dane Sartorius made nine saves.
The Sharks improved their record to 9-4-1 with their seventh straight victory and they are now 4-0 in league play.
The junior varsity team easily won its game, 13-4, although Sharks were down by a goal after the first quarter. This was the team's sixth consecutive win. Jason Frankle led the team in scoring with five goals, all from the set position. Freddy Keith had three steals, and both Jake Ney and Alec Wilovsky had two assists. Goalie Jack Thompson had six saves.

Next week looks to be a real test. The Sharks have a road game against Carpinteria on Wednesday, then face league rival Oak Christian at home on Thursday. Friday and Saturday, the varsity team plays in the Oxnard Tournament and could potentially play four top ten teams, including Rio Mesa, Cresentia Valley and Pasadena Poly.
