Malibu To Host Half Marathon, 5K, Kids Race This Weekend
On Saturday and Sunday, three different races will take place at Malibu's Zuma Beach.
MALIBU, CA — One week after the LA Marathon brought thousands of runners from Downtown to Century City, Malibu is hosting its own series of races.
On Saturday, a 5K race and Kids’ Fun Run will take place at Zuma Beach. On Sunday, the 13th annual Half Marathon will bring an estimated 4,000 runners to Zuma Beach, who will run a 26-mile route along Pacific Coast Highway.
People are also invited to partake in a “virtual race” to raise money for The Boys & Girls Club of Malibu and Girls on the Run Los Angeles, a nonprofit aimed at increasing physical and mental health for young girls. The two races are expected to raise more than $35,000 for both organizations, the Malibu Times reports.
