Malibu Needs Volunteers For Annual Homeless Count
The annual count gives Malibu crucial information about how its strategies for combatting homelessness are working, the city said.
MALIBU, CA — The City of Malibu needs volunteers for the 2020 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22.
The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority conducts the homeless count every January across Los Angeles County. The Malibu deployment site will be at Malibu City Hall at 23825 Stuart Ranch Rd.
The count gives the city crucial information that is used to "inform funding, resources and activities to address homelessness across the County," the city said in a press release. The city also uses the data in its ongoing Homelessness Strategic Plan.
