MALIBU, CA — A rally and candlelight vigil to show support for Israel amid its war against Hamas is planned for Thursday evening.
The "Stop the Silence" rally will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Malibu Pier, 23000 Pacific Coast Highway. A candlelight vigil will follow at 6:30 p.m.
“We must be loyal to our values and proud of who we are,” Oz Porat, one of the organizers said in a release. “For too long, too many have kept safely quiet. But we must not be afraid. We must get off the sidelines and support Israel.”

Malibu pier is known the world over for its iconic Pacific views. It is a place to gather, to come together in unity in a city named by the Chumash, 'Humaliwo-o' which means, where the surf sounds loudly. With more than 1,200 Israelis murdered by terrorists in a barbaric attack and 200 kidnapped, the organizers call locals to stand shoulder to shoulder and make the message sound loudly as the sun sets over the Pacific. 'Never again — is now.'"
After Hamas' attack on Israel Saturday, the war has claimed at least 2,700 lives on both sides. Israel has been pounding Gaza from the air as Hamas militants have fired thousands of rockets into Israel, the Associated Press reported.
