Malibu Road Closures After Landslide, Water Main Leak
Authorities Malibu Road to one lane Friday morning after a landslide caused a water main and gas leak in Malibu.
MALIBU, CA — Malibu Road was reduced to one lane Friday morning after a landslide caused a water main and gas leak at 25328 Malibu Road.
Malibu Road was reduced to one lane from the State Route 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) to Puerto Canyon to allow crews to repair the water main and gas leak. Water service was interrupted for 27 residents in the area and three local fire hydrants just before 9:30 a.m. Gas service was only interrupted for two residents, according to the city.

The water and gas were expected to be back on by Friday afternoon, but there was no estimate on when the lanes will reopen as of 10 a.m.

The Southern California Gas Company responded to a landslide at 25330 Malibu Road around 10 p.m. Thursday. The crew was able to address the gas leak and avoid any evacuations or emergency actions, the city said in a news alert.
