Malibu Woman’s Club Awards Scholarships

The members of the Malibu Woman's Club read over 200 submissions and awarded $150 to the first place winners and $75 to the second place winner.

The Malibu Woman’s Club recently awarded 15 scholarships to high school seniors at its annual scholarship luncheon at Duke’s. 

The 2012 high school seniors were selected for their scholarship, school participation, and community service.

Additionally, 16 fifth grade students from four local elementary schools were given scholarships based on an essay contest on courage.

The fifth grade winners are: Sage Biheller, Ava Bode, Sabine Buchwald, Luca Alfaro-Dyszkant, Jessica Ford, Nikki Gelb, Kaia Gerber, Hannah Hannley, Jack Hughes, Alex Jemelian, Karen Lopez, Stephanie Maldonado, Dylan Omelia, Mia Ross, Kennesaw Eaton-Steinberg and Buckley Ventress.

The 12th grade winners are: Tanner Porter, Isabella Alsobrook, Carolyn Pushaw, Kimberly Watson, Emma Blackwood, Micaela Brookman, Lauren Haas, Max Poswillo, Kevin Reilly, Jr., Drake Baglietto, Juliana Ball, Madison Felman, Madeline Rotman, Makenzie Kizis and Patrick Fontenette.

The winners read their essays to club members, parents, friends, principals and teachers.
