Malibu's Campaign Dirty Trickster Exposed

Commissioner Leonard Found Lying On Behalf of Candidate Grisanti

Sad but no surprise that Malibu’s pro development, dirty trickster Drew Leonard has been spreading lies in the local election campaign about resolute City Councilpersons Bruce Silverstein and Steve Uhring.

Sad because Leonard as a Planning Commissioner appointed by Mayor Doug Stewart swore an oath to uphold the city’s laws and serve all the Council, presumably truthfully, that he now shamelessly disgraces, as well as himself.

No surprise, for Leonard has a questionable history of telling lies, defaming residents, and, not incidentally, as a Planning Commissioner, wantonly approving most equivocal projects, ignoring neighbor protests and environmental concerns.

As for the lies, Silverstein and Uhring can defend themselves quite admirably if they bother to confront the deceitful Leonard and refute his and the falsehoods by others spewing out of the Grisanti reelection campaign.

Concerning the residents who have claimed being harassed by Leonard, they apparently do not like being reminded of those incidents and prefer not to have them rehashed in public. Leonard to them is a lout to be ignored.

But our family does not take lies, insults, and intimidation lightly. Without going into the sorry details, the ill-informed Leonard once implied wrongfully in the social media we had committed a fraud in an application for a reverse mortgage.

That suggestive lie based on Leonard’s ignorance and incompetence as a realtor was deemed legally actionable.

Leonard had already earned a dubious reputation, in addition to his boorish behavior, of being awarded the first rebuild permit after the Woolsley Fire; not for a family residence, but as it turns out a speculative property.

It was reported later sold as a Pacaso multi ownership property, a type of housing usually used for vacations and party weekends, detested by neighbors as a community blight.

Our mortgage records did surface again in a Mayor Stewart official City email to a resident defending his choice of Leonard. And despite us having obtained a verified copy of the email, Stewart continued with his denial having any knowledge of its content and having sent it.

Stewart obviously lied, as did his appointee, Leonard, attacking Silverstein and Uhring in his coarse campaigning in support of Grisanti’s candidacy. And the lies keep coming.

That Grisanti once was notoriously publicly admonished by the State for deceiving an elderly client, places him in the same disreputable coterie as Leonard and Stewart. And yet another reason why Grisanti should be denied a second term
