Malibu's Election Degraded by Dirty Tricks

Candidate Grisanti Funded by Real Estate Interests

.

Grubbing and groveling, lying and insulting, and cowardly shrouding the mudslinging in fake flyers and slow witted surrogates, Grisanti’s bid for reelection has hit a new low.

With only a few days left for residents who have not yet cast their ballots, Grisanti’s supporters funded by out-of-town developers to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars have flooded the mails with salacious false reports smearing Bruce Silverstein.

So far there have been four of these malicious mails issued as well as at least three nasty text messages sent out, all with the clear intent of the disgracing Silverstein and promoting the candidacy of Grisanti.

The candidacy of Steve Uhring and the spirited write-in campaign of an intrepid Andy Lyon also have come under attacks; no doubt also for their stated opposition to the questionable development of bloated commercial and residential projects blighting Malibu.

Not only have the reform trio of candidates have been attacked, but so have their more vocal supporters, myself included; as far as I can discern, separately and surreptitiously, personally and perniciously, by select residents obviously beholden to Grisanti or chumming for patronage.

Sadly these attack dogs on behalf of Grisanti have included residents of some standing in Malibu, including occupying seats on critical city commissions, the school separation effort and notably the Boys & Girls Club.

To be sure, they have been chasing their tails in their infantile insults, though frankly they are a bore, and a distraction from the critical task at hand to expose Grisanti’s disservice to Malibu and promote the candidacy of Silverstein, Uhring and Lyon.

Malibu needs a majority on its City Council that frankly has the smarts and spine, the experience and resolve, to take back our city from the recent, woeful council majority so obviously catering to voracious real estate interest and their own and their select supporter’s greed.
