MAX GAIL: ONE OF MALIBU'S GREAT SOULS

You always know what you are going to get with Max----a very kind and thoughtful guy, with a big heart.

I’ve known Max Gail for about 5 years now. You always know what you are going to get with Max---a very kind and thoughtful guy, with a big heart. Anyone who knows Max, even a little bit, will likely echo this sentiment. Max is introspective...always trying to ”peel back the onion”...always on a search for his greater self. He is also a man of gratitude....something that not all of us demonstrate.

Max has been a very successful actor for over 40 years. He is still working quite steadily even at a time when roles for older men are in shorter supply. Maybe it’s because people just like having this guy around. That is the way most of us feel about Max Gail...we just like having this guy around..

I was speaking with Max yesterday at the local ashram (Sunlife Organics) and we had a great conversation. About half way through Max shared this incredible poem that he wrote. It is really an extraordinary. It is called “Bigger”. One of the many things I love about this poem is that the author lets each of us define for ourselves what is the meaning of ”bigger”. It’s very democratic that way....no dogma. That’s Max.

Ladies and Gentlemen...I have the pleasure of presenting to you....”Bigger”. It will likely brighten your day.

Bigger

Bigger than you. Bigger than me. Bigger than all our hearts and minds can see.
Bigger than all we believe there to be.
Bigger than bondage. Bigger than free.

Bigger than love. Bigger than hate.
Bigger than destiny. Bigger than fate.
Bigger than humble. Bigger than great.
Bigger than race or religion or state.

Bigger than teacher or guru or Sage.
Bigger than sex or youth or age. Bigger than anger, resentment or rage.
Bigger than anything said on a page....or a stage.

Bigger than action whatever we try.
Bigger than all we accept or deny.
Bigger than any one, what, who or why.
Bigger than bigger. And bigger than I.

Max Gail
