Meet an “AMAZING” Globe-Trotting Golfer With a Love of Music

Jim Dowie, age 83, picked up his first golf club at the tender age of 64. Since then, he has hit a remarkable golfing milestone--he’s played on over 300 golf courses in 26 different countries. He simply took his golf clubs with him wherever he and his wife (who also golfs) went, and along the way, the idea came to him to play as many courses as possible. He’s thinking of going for 400.

In addition, Jim sings in a local choir, plays tenor horn in a brass band and enjoys Scottish Country dancing. He recently taught himself to play the piano accordion and now plays in a small ceilidh band. It does make one wonder what he’ll be on to next!
