Meet an “Amazing” Remarkable by His Writing and Personal History

Richard Rhodes, at 81, has just published his 23rd book, Energy, in which he examines the historical role of energy in our world. A Pulitzer Prize winning author and foremost expert on nuclear energy, Richard lectures both nationally and internationally.

But what is truly amazing about Richard, is that his personal story is as compelling as his accomplishments. He and his brother suffered terrible starvation and abuse at the hands of their stepmother, which led Richard to walk into a police station and report her when he was only 10 years old! That led to his and his brother being raised in an institution for orphaned or indigent boys until he received a full scholarship from Yale University, where he graduated with honors. It’s been full steam ahead for Richard ever since. What an inspiring example for us all!
