Meet an “Amazing” With Unmatched Zeal and Zest in the Water
Jane is a shining example of what our later decades can be.

Jane Asher, 84, wins pretty much every international swimming competition in her age category that she enters. By the time she was inducted into the swimming hall of fame a decade ago, Jane had 75 world records to her name. This, despite her two hip replacements over 15 years ago. Although she’s been a water-lover all her life, it’s only after she’d raised her family that she got back into competing. With her husband’s unfortunate passing 20 years ago, Jane began to pursue international competitions to help her cope with her grief. Now she finds it’s something she never wants to quit. Between training in the water, coaching other swimmers, her tai chi, pilates and watercolor class, Jane is a shining example of what our later decades can be.
