Meet an “Amazing” With Unparalleled Strength, Flexibility and Goo
Rae, age, 82. has been teaching yoga weekly at the Ventura Family YMCA for the past 17 years

Rae Beebe, age 82, took up yoga at 67 after she realized that although she did fine with cardio and weights, her flexibility wasn’t particularly good. That first yoga class turned into a devotion to the art.
Rae has been teaching yoga weekly at the Ventura Family YMCA for the past 17 years, with no plans to quit. Her students love her, not just because she always has a new joke for them every week, but because her positive attitude is inspiring. She is kind, uplifting and empowering--a dynamite combination.
Amy Bailey, director of the Ventura Y, says that Rae is a testament to the “use it or lose it” mentality, the enormous benefits of staying active throughout our lives. Plus, as one of her students said, “She has abs of steel."
