John Hetlinger, age 82, belted out the heavy metal band Drowning Pool's mega-hit "Bodies" on America's Got Talent last year with such verve and dynamism, that the band invited him to join them onstage. Which he did. His powerful performance was so well-received that the band extended John an invitation to join them again the next night. Considering that John's karaoke career only started once he retired from Aerospace Engineering some 15 years ago, that's quite a feat. Most recently John was the Program Manager for the Corrective Optics Space Telescope Axial Replacement (COSTAR) instrument designed to correct Hubble Space Telescope's spherical aberration. Not exactly your lightweight occupation. A former Navy pilot, John brings the same courage and determination to singing as he once did to conquering space. Rock on, John!
