Meet an “AMAZING” Who Carries a Torch for Lifelong Fitness!

Jerry Levasseur, at 78, is a volunteer cross country and track and field coach at Bowdoin College.

Jerry Levasseur, age 78, is affectionately known as “tough guy on campus” at Bowdoin College. Jerry is a volunteer coach with the cross country and track and field teams.

Jerry’s own athletic prowess led to his induction into the Maine Running Hall of Fame and the New England 65+ Running Hall of Fame. He is proud to have run with both the Salt Lake City Olympic torch and the National Senior Games torch relays.

Jerry attributes overcoming four bouts of cancer since the age of 71 to his keeping fit. He maintains that fitness improves one’s outlook on life, and makes everything so much easier.
