Meet an “Amazing” Who Found Joy in Working and Greeting Customers
Loren Wade, at 103, was Walmart's oldest USA employee.

Loren Wade, at 103, was Walmart’s oldest USA employee. He put in 30 hours a week, 5 days a week as--among other duties--a greeter ever since he turned 70, having found retirement, in his words, “boring.” Just a few years before, he was honored at 100 years young by “Experience Works,” a job-training non-profit for older workers as “America’s Outstanding Oldest Worker.”
A WWII vet, Loren served in the Air Force for 43 months in India and China, after which he came home to found a successful flooring company. Loren’s a true Walmart appreciator, just as Walmart appreciates him; in his honor Walmart donated $125,000 to the “Friends of the National World War II Memorial” fund.
