Meet an “Amazing” Who Found a Wonderful Way to Use His Talents
Glen Swanson develops radio shows with fellow residents at University Village in Thousand Oaks.

Glen Swanson, at 82, could simply sit back and enjoy his retirement with his wife, Nadina, along with the other senior residents at University Village in Thousand Oaks, California. After all, he’d won three Emmys directing for the Dinah Shore Show among his many other major media credits. But no! Glen realized that although many of the Village residents would love to participate in theatrical performances, too few of them could stand for long periods of time or memorize long scripts. So Glen returned to his first love, radio.
Since radio scripts can be read rather than memorized, (and Glen was gifted both as a director and as one who could create audio and special effects), developing radio shows with the residents was a perfect match. Glen produces two a year, which makes everyone happy! It goes to show--you never know where or when your talents can be buffed off and re-used to the great joy of all.
