Meet an “Amazing” Who Gives Back To Her Community From The Heart

Vera Stanley, at 90, hit the 25-year mark of service as a volunteer with the Kirklees Public Health team. She fully expects to keep on volunteering for many more. Among the public health campaigns she’s participated in are infection control, sexual health, cancer screening and many more. Vera, contrary to how people think of seniors being set in their ways, enjoys the challenge of learning new things all the time. That includes at her gym where she works out three days a week! This, despite having had double hip replacements.

Vera is also active in her church, where she helps to write the church’s newsletter. A true giver!
