Meet an “Amazing” Who Jumped From 15,000 Feet for a Good Cause
He leaped into the wild blue yonder first at age 100, then again at 101.

Verdun Hayes, age 101, is the world’s oldest living tandem skydiver. He leaped into the wild blue yonder first at age 100, then again at 101. He’d already tried gliding at 90, but skydiving was what he really wanted to do. So he did and felt “absolutely over the moon” about it.
Verdun’s jump was also for a good cause. It raised money for The Royal British Legion, a UK charity that supports members of the armed forces, veterans and their families—a cause in which he had already raised over $3,100. Hayes served in World War II as a Lance Corporal, and took part in D-Day.
His next adventure? Wing-walking--he hopes! His enormously supportive children and grandchildren are looking into that possibility for him. Wow!
