Meet an "Amazing" Who Loves to Serve

Edward Kydd, at 102, still heads out every week to distribute “Meals on Wheels” to his assigned routes. He began volunteering to deliver meals a few years after he and his wife retired to Florida in 1989. Edward has logged 13,332 miles in 1,742 hours of service to the organization! In the past 6 years since his wife passed, he’s done so with the help of his daughter, 73-year-old Janet von Berg.

Edward attributes his long life to staying active – he exercises regularly at Planet Fitness. Plus, Edward says he loves hearing the fascinating stories from those on his stops. Whatever the reason people are in need of his “meals,” he is gratified to be there to serve.
