Meet an “Amazing” Who Never Let Go of Her Tennis Dreams

She started competing in her 60s.

Ana Obarrio, 83, whose full name is Ana Obarrio de Pereyra Iraola, gave up tennis at her husband’s request many years ago. He didn’t like her playing mixed doubles with men. Oh, how times have changed!

Ana doesn’t regret a single moment spent raising her children, for they are her greatest joy, but winning is most definitely her second favorite life’s adventure. And win she does! Ana recently placed third in her age group in Argentina, and is now gearing up to compete at the International Tennis Federation's Seniors World Individual Championships in Florida.
