Pengxue Su, age 87, the oldest decathlete to enter in the 2015 World Masters Athletics
Championships, was the only competitor in the men’s 85-89 division. He had to compete against men in their early 80’s – there was no one else in his category! In addition to the 100 meter dash (pictured here), the
masters decathlon events include the long jump, the shot put, the high jump, the 400 meters, the 80-meter hurdles, the discus, the pole vault, the javelin and the 1,500 meters. All of which Pengxue completed
successfully. Who says age slows you down?!
