Meet an “Amazing” Who Sewed With Skill and Excellence

Cathleen Vanhoy, at 90, would sew almost two dozen aprons a day.

Cathleen Vanhoy, at 90, no longer needed to use measuring tape to create the hand-made aprons and collars she had been providing for Masonic members of all ranks for over 40 years. Her ability to eye-ball correct measurements was so well-honed, she could literally wing it! Cathleen got her start in 1946 as a seamstress, and yet when it was time to retire, just couldn’t do it. Thus her start with Dean and Associates, which furnished her the materials with which to sew the aprons and collars in a room in her home. Cathleen was so proficient, she’d been known to sew up to two dozen aprons in a single day! Considered by many as “the best in the business,” Cathleen never wanted to stop doing what she enjoyed so much.
