Meet an “Amazing” Who Sings His Way Into Our Hearts

Johnny Mathis, at 83, still maintains a rigorous concert tour schedule, enthralling audiences all over the United States along with multiple TV appearances including a recent cameo in the final season of “Criminal Minds.”

Did you know that in addition to his amazing voice (classically and opera trained), Johnny is an avid golfer who sponsors an annual charity golf tournament? And that Johnny was so good as a high jumper when he attended San Francisco State, he was invited to try out for the US Olympic team, an honor he declined to go to New York and record his first album?

The rest, as they say, is history. I, for one, will never forget badgering my Dad into letting me go to a Johnny Mathis concert when I was 14, a fabulous memory of a great talent that will be with me forever. Thank you, Dad! And thank you, Johnny.
