John Grumbine, at 100, can out dance people half his age.

John Grumbine, at 100, can out dance people on the dance floor half his age. Considering he only started at 80, that’s quite a feat. John dances 3 to 4 times a week, taking lessons at Arthur Murray, where he will dance a 40 minute session without a break. And we’re not talking just the two-step. John dances competitively, everything from hustle to tango. A wall in his garage is filled with his ballroom awards.
A WWII vet who was a major aircraft overhaul shop chief in the Pacific Theatre, John’s last job was a 20-year stint as an administrator for a York, PA-based five-and-dime store. Not one to sit around, John proceeded to get his master’s degree in pastoral counseling at . . . wait for it . . . 80 years young! What a rich and diverse life.
