Meet an “Amazing” Who Thrives on High-Diving

John Carter, 91, loves to do back-flips off the high diving board.

John Carter, at 91, still loves to do back-flips off the high diving board, in addition to playing soccer, cycling, snowshoeing and running. He’s well aware that most 80 and 90 year olds can’t make it up the ladder, much less attempt to dive off the board.

After putting 40 years in the sewing and fabric business he owned with his now-deceased wife, John intends to continue being as physically active as possible. Why? Because it’s fun, first of all, and because he doesn’t want to “get old"--which he probably won’t, given that “old” is more a state of mind than actual years. What a wonderful example for us all.
