Meet an “Amazing” Whose Great Pitching Adds Up To Wins & Health
At 83, her arms and legs are perfectly fine, so who cares about her age?

Norma Franzese, at 83, is a true softball enthusiast, pitching 4 games a week, with no plans to stop. After all, she reasons, her arms and legs are perfectly fine, so who cares about her age? Apparently not her teammates, who are all younger. Norma is one persistent pitcher. When her manager dropped her from the all-male team she pitched for at age 81, claiming her “fragility,” her team promptly lost the next 2 games. She was brought back in, and guess what? They won! Nonetheless, said manager still kept her out of the games after that. The manager was replaced, Norma re-instated, and she’s been helping win games ever since.
Norma is passionate about softball, loving the health and vigor it affords her body. Recently, her women’s softball team won the Huntsman World Senior Games in Las Vegas. She’s currently gearing up for yet another World Senior Games with . . . wait for it . . . her 103 year old mother cheering from the bleachers!
