Meet an “AMAZING” Whose Lifelong Mantra is “Protect and Serve”

Lt. Thomas B. Jacocks, at 84, retired from the police force after 61 years of service.

Lt. Thomas B. Jacocks, at age 84, retired from the Montgomery County Police Dept. in Maryland amid congratulations and kudos from his fellow police officers, after serving 61 years on the force. And yes, he did work his way up through the ranks. Not that he’s leaving entirely--he will be continuing as a volunteer.

Lt. Jacocks wanted to be a police officer since the tender age of 6, which after his stint in the Korean War, he proceeded to become. In addition to his police career and raising his family of 5, he’s served for thirty years with the Maryland Special Olympics program.
