Meet an “Amazing” Whose Perseverance Pays Off – Repeatedly
John Lee, at 87, broke Britain's cycling records for someone his age, riding almost 19 miles in one hour.

John Lee, at 87, broke Britain’s cycling records for someone his age, riding 18.815 miles in one hour on an outdoor track at Welwyn Garden City, England. John’s been racing continuously since 1952, and at age 80, clocked 21.281 miles, in one hour--a new outdoor record in his age group, and at age 84, 20.433 in one hour.
How does he do it? By doing it! John is out there cycling as many miles as he can without stopping, and has been doing that for many years as often as he can. For John it’s all about attitude; that you have to get your mind to do it before your body will kick in.
