Meet an “Amazing” Whose Surgical Skills are Still a Blessing
Illyinichna Levushkina, 89, became a surgeon in 1950 and still performs 4 surgeries a day.
Illyinichna Levushkina, age 89, began her career as a surgeon in 1950. She currently performs about 4 surgeries per day at Ryazan City Hospital in Russia. She’s proud of having saved individuals other doctors refused to operate on, and has to date zero fatalities.
Being a surgeon was her childhood dream. There’s nothing Illyinichna would rather do. Retirement makes no sense to her at all, she loves her work so much. She is unmarried, living in her apartment where she cares for her disabled nephew and 8 beloved cats.
