Meet an “AMAZING” Wowing Them on the Keyboard
Alice Donahue, 84, performs live fun fusion every Sunday night at the Showtime bar.

Alic Donahue, age 84, is better known as “Granny” of “Granny and the Boys.” It's the name of her band
that performs live funk fusion every Sunday night at the Showtime bar in Washington D.C. The band consists of four middle-aged men playing bass, guitar, drums and vocals with Alice on keys.
Alice started managing her partner, Richard’s, band some 20 years ago, and shortly thereafter, the keyboard player up and disappeared right before a live performance. Would Alice take over? She’d never played anything but classical music, but what the heck!
After that baptism by fire, she never looked back, and has been the band’s keyboard player ever since, to the delight of the (mostly young!) audience that packs the Showtime on Sunday nights.
