Meet a Wildly Tallented “Amazing” With a Generous Heart and Soul

Herb Alpert, 83, is not only a talented musician, but a sculptor and philanthropist.

Herb Alpert, 83, known to many of us as “Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass,” but he's also an abstract expressionist painter and innovative sculptor of totems, with impressive exhibitions around the US and Europe. Not only that, but Herb is quite a philanthropist. Since the 1980s, he has donated tens of millions of dollars to support youth and arts education as well as environmental concerns. In 2016 alone, he donated $10.1 million to Los Angeles City College to provide a tuition free education to all music majors at the school starting in 2017. With all that, Herb never lost sight of his first love, performing music. In 2014, he won a Grammy for “Best Pop Instrumental Album” for his work on “Steppin’ Out.” Way to go!
