Mom And Child Rescued From Cliff In Malibu
The pair were hiking at Point Dume State Beach when they got stuck on a cliff 50 feet above the ocean.

MALIBU, CA — Firefighters rescued a mother and child hiking at Point Dume State Beach in Malibu Saturday after they became stuck on a cliff 50 feet above the Pacific Ocean, authorities said.
The incident was reported at 3:42 p.m. near Birdview Avenue and Cliffside Drive, Los Angeles County Fire Department Capt. Ron Haralson said.
Firefighters set up a lowering system to assist both hikers down the cliff after they were frozen in place, officials tweeted from the scene.

The mother and son were evaluated by paramedics after they were lowered to safety at about 4:15 p.m. and no injuries were reported, Haralson said.
