Neighborhood Spat Involving NBA Superstar Kevin Garnett Leads to Lawsuit

An unnamed neighbor claims the Brooklyn Nets forward misled the city on his renovation plans to avoid pulling permits.

NBA superstar and Malibu resident Kevin Garnett is being sued by his neighbor for illegal renovations that bug and foliage that blocks the neighbor’s ocean views, several media outlets report.

The lawsuit contends that the Brooklyn Nets power forward started work on his $9.5 million mansion in 2013, but he never took out the proper permits with the city, according to TMZ.

But the allegations get worse. The neighbor says Garnett misled city officials by claiming he was only making interior changes, not adding on to the already large house.

The neighbor tried to address the matter with Garnett, but the lawsuit says the basketball player and his wife "scoffed" and "stonewalled" him, according to TMZ.

The neighbor has not been identified, UPI reports. He is asking for damages and that the trees and bushes be trimmed to restore the views.
