Parents Demand More Testing at Malibu High Before School Starts

It was a star-studded call to action, but the action called for was protection of their own children.
About 150 Malibu parents, joined by star power in Joshua Malina, Cindy Crawford and Ed Begley Jr., put on a press conference to express their concern that the district has not satisfactorily cleaned contamination discovered last year from PCBs in the building materials at the three-school shared campus on Morning View Drive.

In announcing she’s wiling to pay for the testing, Crawford said she’s lost confidence in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified school board to keep the teachers and students safe.
One school board member, Oscar de la Torre, did attend but said he was warned to stay away.

Classes begin Tuesday, Aug. 19.
