PCH Reopened After A Pedestrian Was Struck And Killed in Malibu

A pedestrian was killed in a crash on Pacific Coast Highway Monday night, shutting Westbound lanes for over three hours.

MALIBU, CA — A man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, restricting traffic through the busy beach area for more than three hours, authorities said Tuesday.

The crash occurred at 8:38 p.m. Monday at PCH and Cross Creek Road, Sgt. Chris Soderlund of the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff's Station told City News Service.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Soderlund said.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigating deputies, he said.

Westbound lanes in the area were shut down for the crash investigation, Soderlund said. They were reopened around midnight.
