Pedestrian Killed On 101 Freeway In Crash Involving Big Rig

A pedestrian was killed on the 101 Freeway Monday morning.

CALABASAS, CA — A pedestrian was killed Monday morning in a crash involving a big rig on the 101 Freeway.

The crash was reported at 5:57 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway just west of Lost Hills Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded to the scene along with CHP officers, but the pedestrian could not be saved.

Aerial footage aired by CBS Los Angeles showed a disabled tractor trailer pulled over onto the right shoulder of the highway during the investigation.

All eastbound freeway lanes were closed until about 6:45 a.m., when one lane was reopened.
