Pepperdine Donates 3,000 Face Shields To LAC+USC Medical Center

The Homeland Security Advisory Council at the Pepperdine School of Public Policy donated 3,000 face shields on April 14.

MALIBU, CA — The Homeland Security Advisory Council at the Pepperdine School of Public Policy (HSAC@SPP) recently donated 3,000 face shields to LAC+USC Medical Center.

The face shields will guard workers against infectious fluids while treating COVID-19 patients. The donation on April 14 was made in partnership with the Emergency Supply Donor Group, a nonprofit that helps provide personal protective equipment to Los Angeles hospitals.

“This gift of face shields given on behalf of HSAC@SPP will go directly to protecting our healthcare heroes on the frontlines of this crisis,” said SPP Dean Pete Peterson, who is also a senior fellow at the Davenport Institute for Public Engagement at the School of Public Policy.

HSAC@SPP was founded to help support the city of Malibu’s efforts to prepare for and respond to crises by linking safety agencies, business and city leaders, and the community.
