Sports teams at Malibu High have a tradition of celebrating the accomplishments of their seniors at the last home game of the season with a Senior Day.
Last Friday, the girls water polo team had their Senior Day, along with a resounding 16-2 win over Nordoff.

Coach Meredith Shirk said Senior Day is bittersweet.
"On one hand you are honoring your treasured seniors, but on the other hand you are also bidding them farewell. This year we had some amazing talent, dedication and leadership from our seniors. Each one of them brought something different to our already dynamic team, characteristics that were evident in our game against Nordoff," Shirk said.

"Leading the way in scoring, Jenny Hill-Carta and Linda Brown racked up 6 goals a piece. Rae Jackson netted a goal as well, adding a steal to her defensive performance. Leah Ball also added a steal as well as earning an ejection for the team."
"Overall, the sharks really came to play on Friday. As a coach, the best part for me is not seeing the end score on senior day, but seeing how much the juniors, sophomores and parents did to make it so special. Stats are stats, but when you think about Senior Day, no one thinks of the game, they think of the memories shared with those seniors. They will be missed!"
