Pilot Grounded After Offering a Hostess as Compensation for Delayed Flight: In an incident that sparked widespread media coverage, Indonesian airline Lion Air has grounded a pilot after he jokingly offered an air hostess to passengers as compensation for a delay on a flight to the resort island of Bali.
Interesting approach they’re taking - in lieu of customer service, they simply service the customer. Guess its not all that surprising that a message like this would come out of the “cockpit.”
Sounds as if they old “coffee, tea, or me” is making a comeback. Throughout the plane, people could be heard shouting “we are going down!” At the end of the flight, all passengers were told to “please return the stewardess to her original upright position.”

Bottom line, some passengers were offended, saying next time they’ll only fly Virgin Airlines, however, the other passengers were quick to point out that this really beats the hell out of United’s idea of “The Friendly Skies.” Of course in the end, it all was just a bad joke, which kind of made “Lion Air” look more like “Lyin’ Air.”
