Power Outages Continue In Malibu Through Friday

Malibu residents continued to see power outages due to risky fire weather, and were on guard through Friday evening.

MALIBU, CA — Power outages continued through Friday in parts of Malibu to avoid an electrical equipment-ignited wildfire given risky weather in the area.

Nearly all of eastern Malibu experienced shutoffs Friday morning, with much of Western Malibu still at risk of losing power. Many residents between Malibu and the State Route 101 (Ventura Freeway) were also experiencing power outages as of 10 a.m. Friday. See the map of outages on Southern California Edison's website.

Power restoration usually happens within three to 8 hours, according to SCE. The city has kept traffic lights running with generators. Stay updated by checking the city's website for alerts.
